The height of Mount Everest is 8,849 m and it's mostly in the stratosphere. 

Because it is the stratosphere, there is a lack of air and a mixture of gases that are needed for humans. 

Also, the temperature decreases, and pressure increases when the altitude increases and adds up to unpleasantness to the climate.
