Ballad is a tale is the form of a song. It is a collection of songs sung by wandering singers from village to village. Generally it is glorified the brave deeds and heroic exploits of historical heroes.
The objective of the ballad was to entertain the audience. The ballad poet narrates a complex tale in a simple manner. It is written in four line stanzas called Quatrains in iambic pentameter.
