The poem 'Small Pain in my Chest' is about a soldier who fought for his country and died due to a wound in his chest. The poem is written by Michael Mack. The poem creates a big conscience of humanity by making us aware that how the soldiers of our country are fighting a war for our safety while we are at home. All they ask is some water, food and some gentle gestures of love. The soldier in the poem was looking for someone for help but instead of people he was surrounded by dead bodies.

The soldiers fight hard to win the battle for the country. On seeing such young people sacrificing so much for our country and dying in the end, we are filled with pride and sadness. Thus, creating a big pain in our heart against a small pain in their chest.
