Transpiration helps in cooling a plant by the process of evaporation of water from the surface of leaves.

This happens mainly through small pores known as stomata.

During the evaporation of water from the leaf surface, it absorbs heat energy from the plant.

This is similar to how sweat cools our body. This results ina  loss of heat from the plant's body.

Hence, the temperature drops and the plant stays cool.
