best_answer

Answer: Consider a number line . Let the point O repersent 0 and point A repersent 3 .

Now draw a perpendicular AP at A on the number line and cut of Arc AB =1 unit

Using pythagoras Theorem , we have

\ OB^2=OA^2+AB^2\ \ Rightarrow OB^2=3^2+1^2\ \ Rightarrow OB^2=10\ \ Rightarrow OB=sqrt10

With O as centre and as radius draw an arc cutting real line at C .

Clearly OC= OB =\sqrt10

Thus , C repersent \sqrt10 on number line
