If gene migration happens multiple times, it is known as Gene flow.

If the same change occurs by chance it is called Genetic drift. Gene flow and genetic drift affect the population by charging the allelic frequency in both the old and new populations that become a different species. The original drifted population is called foundres and the effect is Founder's effect.
