Hugh Lofting as he is popularly known as was an English author whose full name was Hugh John Lofting. He was on born on 14 January, 1886 and died in 26 September, 1947 at the age of sixty years, four months before his sixty one birthday. He created the character of Doctor Dolittle in the children story book 'The Story of Doctor Dolittle'. In this story Doctor Dolittle likes animals more than his patients and can talk to animal in their own language. This character first appeared in his letter to his children during World War First.
