$ Salary $ \$ 2.80, \$ 2 \times 2.80 , \$ 2 \times 2 \times 2.80 ..... \\ $ Total salary of n days $ = \$ 2.80(1+2+2^2 + .....+2^{n-1}) \$ 714 \\ 2.8 \times \frac{1(2^n-1)}{2-1} = 714 \\\\ 2^n -1 = \frac{714}{2.8} = 255 \\ 2^n = 256 = 2^8 \\ n =8 \\ $ Hence he/she has worked for 8 days.
