Visit to Mars

Last year as part of NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration ) programme, I got an opportunity to visit Mars along with two of my colleagues. The planet Mars is visually very beautiful. It is known as Red planet. The red colour is due to the presence of iron oxide on Mars which makes it look red to observers in space. From sun it is the fourth planet and after Mercury it is the second most smallest planet.

As compared to Earth, the surface of Mars is red and full of craters, desserts and ice. Although the days and seasons on Mars is comparable to Earth. Mars had the highest volcano mountain on its surface known as Olymus Mons. The Earth has one moon and Mars have two namely Phobos and Deimos. The Mars vary from Earth in size, radius, surface area, volume and mass.

So, overall the experience of Mars was good. However there was no water on Mars only dust and rocks. We have to carry our own food and drinks and survive on them. On Earth a day is of twenty fours hour, on Mars it was more around twenty five hours so that way our body adjusted to the time shift. The oxygen level in Mars is also less than that of Earth and thus, we need to carry oxygen cylinders. The outfit we were wearing was especially designed for this visit.
