# In a exam for each correct answer of the question there is 3 marks. For each wrong answer there is -1 marks. If a student solved 110 correct answer and got 286 marks total, then find out how many wrong answers he has done?

Answers (1)

$\begin{array}{l}\text{For each correct answer we get}\ 3\ \text{marks and wrong answer we get}\ -1.\\ \text{Total marks student got from correct answer}=110\times3=330\\ \text{But he actually got}\ 286\ \text{marks.}\\ \text{So Difference in marks}=286-330=-44\\ \text{Hence total wrong answer he solved}=-\frac{44}{\text{marks for one wrong answer}}=-\frac{44}{\left(-1\right)}=44\end{array}$
