Given-

  • 20 men + 30 women + 36 children are paid Rs. 78/day.
  • Work ratio: man : woman : child = 3 : 2 : 1

To find- The total wages of 15 men, 21 women, and 30 children for 18 weeks

Solution- Total daily work in units:
$20 \times 3 + 30 \times 2 + 36 \times 1 = 60 + 60 + 36 = 156$ units
Total daily wages = Rs. 78
So, wage per unit = $\frac{78}{156} = 0.5$ Rs/unit

Now, daily work by 15 men, 21 women, and 30 children:
$15 \times 3 + 21 \times 2 + 30 \times 1 = 45 + 42 + 30 = 117$ units
Daily wages = $117 \times 0.5 = 58.5$ Rs
Number of days in 18 weeks = $18 \times 7 = 126$ days
Total wages = $58.5 \times 126 = 7371$ Rs
