Mughal empire was an early modern empire in south Asia. Mughal emperor Babur established Mughal empire in 1526, after defeating Ibrahim Lodi in the battle of Panipat I. Mughal made a major contribution to the Indian sub-continent with the development of their unique Indo-Parsian architecture. Main causes for the decline of the Mughal empire were following-
1- Daccan campaign of emperor Aurangzeb.
2- Deterioration of land relations
3- Lack of initiative in modern weapons
4- Emergence of regional powers
5- Military weakness
6-Group rivalry at the court
7- The attacks of the Marathas in the North.
After declining of Mughal empire, British colonial rule was started in India.
