Active immunity - The immunity which comes due to exposure to pathogens or immunisation in the body leads to the production of antibodies by the individual, as it is a slow process.

Passive immunity - The immunity which is ready-made antibodies and is directly given to protect the body of an individual against pathogenic agents, as it provides immediate immunity.
