The lost child is written by Mulk Raj Anand. It is a story of a child who lost his parents in a fair. This play start from the village scene. Many people were going to join the fair. A child was also going with his parents. He was running with joy. On the way he demanded s toy which his father denied. He was attracted towards the dove. He saw a snake charmer and a roundabout. The child wished to go on the round about but he got no reply from his parents. The child looked everywhere but the parent were lost in the crowd. He ran through people's legs, sobbing, ' Mother, father! ' The poor child struggled to thrust a way between the men's feet, but knocked to and fro by their movements. He might have been trampled underfoot if a man had not lifted him up in his arms. The man asked him to take  flower- garland and enjoy the sweets but the child turned his face from the sweet shop and only sobbed, "I want my mother, I want my father."
