Let the number of sunflower plants bought by Shila = x

Number of Rose plants bought by Shila = x + 35

According to the problem given ,

Ratio of Rose plants and Sunflower plants bought by shila = 8 : 3

( x + 35 )/x = 8/3

3( x + 35 ) = 8x

3x + 105 = 8x

8x - 3x = 105

5x = 105

x = 105/5

x = 21

Therefore ,

Number of sunflower plants bought by shila = x = 21

Number of Rose plants bought by shila = x + 35 = 21 + 35 = 56
