Steps to undertake for dealing with gender issues while teaching in classroom are-

1. Make sure while teaching in class, the English stories have both male and female characters. So, that children can understand that the story is about young children like them.

2. Ensure boys and girls in class sit together on desk.

3. Ensure boys and girls eat together, study together and do other co curricular activities together.

4. Ensure equal participation of girls and boys in the competition such as speech, debates, giving answers in class, sports, dance and other co curricular activities.

5. Giving equal duties to both boys and girls. Such as making two monitors - one boy and one girl, giving same duties to both such as cleaning  blackboard duty, becoming subject incharge to both boys and girls.
