Solution:  Let r cm be the radius and l cm be the slant height of the cone . Then , 

               r:l =4:7Rightarrow r=4x cm , l=7x cm

Now ,       Curved surface area = 792cm^2

Rightarrow            pi rl =792Rightarrow frac227	imes4x 	imes7x=792

Rightarrow            x^2=frac79288=9Rightarrow x=3

	herefore              r=4x=4	imes3=12cm

Hence , the radius of the base of the cone is 12 cm .
