Solution:  Let the radius of the cone be $r$  cm .

We have ,

$h=$ height of the cone = 40 cm and V = Volume of the cone = 18480$cm^3$

$\therefore$                  $\frac{1}{3} \times \frac{22}{7} \times r^2\times40=18480$

$\Rightarrow$                 $r^2= \frac{18480\times3\times7}{22\times40}=441\Rightarrow r=\sqrt{441}cm =21cm$
