The term rural area is used for areas that are secluded, unaccessible, and underdeveloped as compared to their other counterpart that is urban areas. However, both rural or village areas and urban areas have their own peculiar characteristics and features which make life in the rural or urban area special and affect its economy. In the rural areas the focus is on sustenance thus crops are produced, things are made not for selling but ensuring daily livelihood. Both urban and rural areas can learn from each other.

Things that can be done for the development of village areas are building the infrastructure of village areas. The infrastructure can be build by making roads, creating school buildings, and Anganwadi's. In village areas,  kachcha roads are present which break during floods,  earthquakes, and landslides. By creating pucca roads then we are ensuring that schools are accessible to children. Secondly, by creating Anganwadi's and schools we are ensuring that students stay in schools. Many facilities can be made available to children such as midday meals and free education which will retain children in school. Children will learn, talk and socialize with their friends while their parents work on farms,  factories, and other sectors.

Thirdly, some small manufacturing companies and industries can be created in rural areas such as for farming, beekeeping, breeding fishes, handcrafts, and other small factories. The farmers and service providers can be educated on the ways to yield crops, grow plants, beekeeping, and catching and breeding fishes using proper tools and instruments. This will help the farmers to learn the correct way of planting trees, using a high yielding variety of seeds, and to grow crops. These methods and techniques will help them in their business and will help them to earn some money for their survival. Slowly they will be able to go to market and sell their products and earn some money. These changes will surely bring positive changes in the lives of villagers.
