Two trains of equal length are running on parallel lines in the same direction at 46 km/hr and 36 km/hr. The faster train passes the slower train in 36 seconds. The length of each train is:

Answers (1)

Let x m be the length of each train then the distance covered will be 2x m

Relative speed of the trains = 46-36 = 10 km/hr = 10*5/18 m/s = 25/9 m/s

So, 2x/36 = 25/9

2x = 25/9 *36

2x = 25*4 = 100

Therefore x = 50

Hence, length of each train is 50 m
