Answer: Articles are words that define a noun as specific or unspecific. 

There are two types of articles in English 1.Definite 2.indefinite

Let's discuss them in detail.

The definite Article 

The definite article is the word "The" it limits the meaning of noun to one particular thing.

 examples 

1 .I am going to the market.

2.Are you going to the party.

3.please give me the red pen.

The Indefinite Article 

There are two forms of indefinite article 

It's the word "a "when it precedes a word that begins with a consonant and consonant sound.

It's the word "an"when it precedes a word that begins with a vowel and with vowel sound.

Examples for "a"

1.Please give me a pen.

2.This is a university.

3.I need a tablet.

Examples for "an"

1.I saw an accident of a car

2.my father is an honest person.

3.Rohit is training to be an engineer.

Omission of articles.

1.No article is used for the ..

a.name of the persons 

b.Name of the planets..except"the earth"

C.Name of the languages

d.days of the weeks 

e.uncountable nouns 

f.months of the year 

g.name of the metals....etc
