What do you mean by Transgenic Animals?
Transgenic animals are organisms that have been genetically modified by introducing some foreign DNA, i.e. genes from another species into their genome. This is often done using Recombinant DNA Technology to introduce the desired traits such as faster growth, production of medically useful proteins, and disease resistance.
Examples of transgenic animals include transgenic mice, which are used to study diseases like diabetes and cancer.
Transgenic cows for the production of human proteins such as insulin and antibodies.
Transgenic sheep and goats for the production of therapeutic proteins in their milk for the treatment of diseases like hemophilia.
