Initially, Dr. Sadao was in a dilemma he could not understand whether he should tend to the American soldier, who was dying, and hand it over to the Japanese army as a patriot. Dr. Sadao was very kind-hearted, he put his life to risk in saving Tom who was an American soldier, And gave him shelter in his own house. Dr. Sadao and his wife bring humanity and he starts treating his wounds even though the servants refuse to keep and threaten to leave their house but they are reluctant to save the life of a soldier. She also served him cooked food and she started feeding him herself. They both did very well in saving the life of enemy soldiers. Later the doctor informs the general to keep loyalty towards his country but after spending the sleepless nights with them he gradually helps the man to escape.
