What is parturition?
Parturition is simply the process of giving birth. When a baby is fully grown inside the mother’s womb, the body of the mother starts preparing for delivery.
The mother experiences strong contractions that help push the baby out. These contractions are controlled by a hormone called oxytocin, which helps the uterus tighten and move the baby downward.
Once the baby is born, the placenta, which is used to provide food and oxygen to the baby during pregnancy, also comes out since it no longer serves any purpose. This completes the process of childbirth.
