Sharia law is also called Muslim Personal Law (Shariat) Application Act 1937. All the matters related to the Muslims like marriage, succession, inheritance and charity are included in this act. These laws are not applicable in Goa state because there Goa Civil Code is applicable for all persons irrespective of religions. These laws are not applicable to those Muslims who married under the Special Marriage Act 1954.
