Present Tense : We use present tense when we want to speak about fixed habits or routines-things that do not change.

Present Continuous Tense: We use present continuous to speak about actions that are happening at this moment but will soon finish.

E.g
I go to school (Present Tense)

I am going to school ( Present Continuous Tense )
