In the given question, we have

Amount A = Rs. 1044

Number of years T = 4

and the Rate of interest R  = 4%

And as we know, A = P+I

  I = \frac{PRT}{100}

Now,  1044 = P+ \frac{P\times 4\times 4}{100}

1044 = p + \frac{P\times 4}{25} = \frac{29P}{25}

P = \frac{1044\times 25}{29} = 39\ast 25

Hence, the answer would be 900 Rs
