Aurangzeb was the sixth Mughal emperor. His father was emperor Shahjahan. Aurangzeb ruled over entire Indian Subcontinent for a period of 49 years. He ruled from 1658 to 1707. Aurangzeb was noted for his religious piety. He patronized works of Islamic and Arabic calligraphy. He was died on 3 March 1707 in Ahmadnagar, Maharashtra.
