Children's day is celebrated every year on fourteenth November. It is the birth date of Pandit Jwaharlal Nehru. He loved children and wanted children to get educated. Children according to him were the backbone of Indian Society. He is thus lovingly called Chacha Nehru by children. Pandit Jwaharlal Nehru was the first Prime Minister of Independent India. Celebration of children's day is actually a celebration of children's rights, to support their education, awareness regarding child care and children's welfare and growth. The day of fourteenth November is also known as Children's day or Bal diwas. On this day, every year cultural programmes are organized for children in school, colleges and educational institutes.
