There are a total of 15 families, each with five members. 

The total number of members at an event is  15\times 5=75.

Every member of the family will now exchange the card with 70 other people.

The total number of cards exchanged is 75\times 70=5250.

When two people exchange two cards, the total number of card exchanges is half the number of cards.

As a result, the total number of card exchanges is 5250 divided by 2 is 2625.
