A balloon is filled with hydrogen gas at room temperature. It will burst if pressure exceeds 0.2 bar. If at 1 bar pressure, the gas occupies 2.27 L volume, up to what volume can the balloon be expanded?

From the given data,
$$ \begin{array}{l} V_{1}=2.27 L \\ V_{2}=? \\ P_{1}=1 \mathrm{bar} \end{array} $$
$\mathrm{P}_{2}=0.2 \mathrm{bar}$
According to Boyle"s law,

$$ P_{1} V_{1}=P_{2} V_{2} $$
\therefore \quad v_{2}=\frac{P_{1} V_{1}}{P_{2}}$
Substituting the values, we have
v_{2}=\frac{1 \text { bar } \times 2.27 L}{0.2 \text { bar }}=11.35 \mathrm{L} $$
since balloon bursts at$0 \cdot 2$  bar pressure, the volume of the balloon should be less than
$11 \cdot 35 L$ .
