Given that,

There are  4 dark chocolate, 3 milk chocolate, and 2 white chocolate in a box.

Selection of Zero or more dark chocolate can be done in 4 + 1 = 5 ways.

Selection of Zero or more milk chocolate can be done in 3 + 1 = 4 ways.

Selection of Zero or more white chocolate can be done in 2 + 1 = 3 ways.

So, the total number of ways is,

5\times 4\times 3=120

But we included a case of 0 dark chocolate, 0 milk chocolate, and 0 white chocolate, so we have to subtract to get 120 – 1 = 119 ways.

Therefore, the total number of ways to select chocolate from the box is 119.
