Population covered by antenna -

Population covered = Population density X area covered

-

 

 Range of antenna = \sqrt{2R_e h_T}

= \sqrt{2\times6400\times 10^3\times 5m^2}

= 8000 m = 8 Km 

Area covered by antenna = \pi (Range )^2

= 3.14 \times (8000)^2sq \: m=200 sq.km

The population covered = 200 \times 1000

= 2 lakh people
