it will be parabolic. because the particle will be attracted towards the charged plate of its opposite sign.

there will be two motions asscoiated with a perpendicular motion to E and one along E.

for which the equation is as follows

y=1/2 qEx2/mv2

 where q is charge.... E is electric feild....m is mass and v is the initial velocity...

y=kx2 where k=1/2qE/mv2.
