To prevent sliding 

m_2g=f=\mu m_1g

1=\mu \left (\frac{l-x}{x} \right )

\frac{1}{\mu} =\frac{l}{x}-1

\frac{1+\mu}{\mu} =\frac{l}{x}

x=\frac{l(\mu)}{1+\mu}
