A wire of length l meters carrying a current I amperes is bent in the form of a circle. The magnitude of the magnetic moment is

Option: 1

\mathrm{\frac{l I^2}{2 \pi}}

Option: 2

\mathrm{\frac{l I^2}{4 \pi} }

Option: 3

\mathrm{\frac{l^2 I}{2 \pi}}

Option: 4

{\frac{l^2 I}{4 \pi}}

Magnetic moment {m=A l=\pi r^2 l}  where r is the radius of the circular loop. Now, the circumference of the circle = length of the wire, i.e.
or

{2 \pi r =l \\ r^2 }

{ =\frac{l^2}{4 \pi^2}}

Therefore,  {m=\pi r^2 l=\frac{\pi l^2 I}{4 \pi^2}=\frac{l^2 I}{4 \pi}}
Hence the correct choice is (d).
