\mathrm{B_H=B \cos \theta} and  \mathrm{B_V=B \sin \theta} . Hence
\mathrm{ \frac{B_V}{B_H}=\tan \theta }
Given  \mathrm{ \frac{B_V}{B_H}=\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}} } . Therefore, \mathrm{ \tan \theta=\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}} }, i.e.  \mathrm{\theta=30^{\circ} }  which is choice (a).
