Equation of a Plane Progressive wave is given by y=0.16 \sin 2 \pi\left(t-\frac{x}{2}\right). on reflection from a denser medium its amplitude becomes \frac{7}{4} of the amplitude of the incident wave. The equation of the reflected wave

Option: 1

y=-0.28 \sin 2 \pi\left(t+\frac{x}{2}\right)

Option: 2

 y=-0.26 \sin 2 \pi\left(t+\frac{x}{2}\right)

Option: 3

y=-0.24 \sin 3 \pi\left(t+\frac{x}{2}\right)

Option: 4

y=-0.30 \sin \pi\left(t+\frac{x}{2}\right)

Amplitude of reflected wave

=\frac{7}{4} \times 0.16=7 \times 0.04=0.28

on reflection from a denser on reflection from a denser medium there is Phase change of \pi.

\therefore Equation of reflected wave

y=0.28 \sin 2 \pi\left(t+\frac{x}{2}+\pi\right) \\

y=-0.28 \sin 2 \pi\left(t+\frac{x}{2}\right)
