Let potential of point \mathrm{O} be \mathrm{V}, then write the potential of various points in terms of \mathrm{V} as shown in the figure


Apply junction rule at \mathrm{O}.

\begin{aligned} & \qquad \frac{V-6-10}{2}+\frac{V-8-2}{1}=3 \\ & \text { or } V-16+2(V-10)=3 \times 2 \\ & \text { or } 3 V=42 \text { or } V=14 \text { volt } \\ & \text { Current through } 2 \Omega \text { resistor, } \\ & I=\frac{V-6-10}{2}=\frac{14-6-10}{2}=-1 A \end{aligned}
-ve sign shows that current is coming towards \mathrm{O}, i.e., opposite to our assumed direction.
