\mathrm{z=a^{2} x^{3} y^{\frac{1}{2}}} \\

\mathrm{\frac{\Delta z}{z} \times 100= \frac{3\Delta x}{x} \times 100 +\frac{1}{2} \frac{\Delta y}{y} \times 100} \\

\mathrm{\frac{\Delta z}{z} \times 100= 3(4 \%)+\frac{1}{2} \times(12 \%)} \\

                    \mathrm{= 18 \%}

The percentage error in measurement of  \mathrm{z} is \mathrm{18 \%}
