Glucose contains 6 carbon atoms, so it is a hexose. Also, it contains an aldehyde group, so it is an aldose sugar(aldohexose).
It is called dextrose because a solution of glucose is dextrorotatory. It is obtained from grapes, so it is called grape sugar.
