Some times, we use the maximum and minimum value of trigonometric functions to solve trigonometric equations.

While solving equation of the type f(x) = g(x), and x ∈ A, we may come across the situation like

If  x ∈ A, f(x) ≤ a and g(x) ≥ a, then f(x) = g(x) = a.

x \cos x =1\\ \cos x=\frac{1}{x}=y\\

as\ x\rightarrow \infty, y\rightarrow 0^+\\ as\ x\rightarrow - \infty, y\rightarrow 0^-\\
