Half-time of a reaction \mathrm{t_1/_2 = [Ao]^{^{1-n}}}  where Ao is initial concentration of reactant and n is order of reaction with respect to that reactant.

Since, it is shown that half-time remains unaffected from variation in concentration of reactant

\mathrm{ \Rightarrow 1-\mathrm{n}=0 \\ }

\mathrm{ \Rightarrow \mathrm{n}=1 }.
