As we learned

Collinear Vectors -

x\hat{a}+y\hat{b}=\hat{0}\Rightarrow x= y= 0

- wherein

If and only if  \vec{a} and \vec{b} are non-collinear.

 \because a \, \, and\, \, b are non-collinear, so equation wil hold only when 2x-3y+1=0\, \, and 5x+7y-12=0

on solving, X=1, Y=1

\therefore x+y=2\, \, \, \, option (B)
