As we learnt

Domains and Ranges of Inverse Trigonometric Functions -

For \cot ^{-1}x

Domain \epsilon R

Range \epsilon \left [ 0, \pi \right ]

-

Clearly the domain of the function is [-1, 1]

                              We know that {\tan ^{ - 1}}x \in \left[ { - \frac{\pi }{4}\;,\;\frac{\pi }{4}} \right] for x \in [-1, 1].

                              Thus range is \left[ {\frac{\pi }{4}\;,\;\frac{{3\pi }}{4}} \right]$.
