The structure of an HCP unit cell is given below:

As we can see, there are 3 different types of atoms as indicated by the color code

The red spheres are shared between 6 unit cells and these are 12 in number.

The violet spheres are shared between 2 unit cells and these are 2 in number

The green spheres lie completely inside the unit cell and these are 3 in number

\mathrm{\therefore Rank\ of\ Unit\ Cell = 12 \times \frac{1}{6} +2 \times \frac{1}{2} + 3 = 6}

Hence, the correct answer is Option (3)
