The electric field intensity produced by the radiations coming from 100 \mathrm{~W} bulb at a 3 \mathrm{~m} distance is \mathrm{E}. The electric field intensity produced by the radiations coming from 50 \mathrm{~W} bulb at the same distance is:

Option: 1

\frac{\mathrm{E}}{2}

Option: 2

2 \mathrm{E}

Option: 3

\frac{\mathrm{E}}{\sqrt{2}}

Option: 4

We know that, \mathrm{E}_0 \propto \sqrt{\mathrm{P}_{\mathrm{av}}}

\mathrm{\therefore \frac{\left(\mathrm{E}_0\right)_1}{\left(\mathrm{E}_0\right)_2}=\sqrt{\frac{\left(\mathrm{P}_{\mathrm{av}}\right)_1}{\left(\mathrm{P}_{\mathrm{av}}\right)_2}} }

\mathrm{\Rightarrow \frac{\mathrm{E}}{\left(\mathrm{E}_0\right)_2}=\sqrt{\frac{100}{50}} }

\mathrm{\quad\left(\mathrm{E}_0\right)_2=\frac{\mathrm{E}}{\sqrt{2}} }

Hence option 3 is correct.
