In the first case, energy emitted, \mathrm{E}_1=2 \mathrm{E}-\mathrm{E}=\mathrm{E}

In the second case, energy emitted

\mathrm{E}_2=\frac{4 \mathrm{E}}{3}-\mathrm{E}=\frac{\mathrm{E}}{3}

As \mathrm{E_2 is\left(\frac{1}{3}\right)^{\text {rd }}, \lambda_2}  must be 3 times, i.e., 3 \lambda.
