\\frequency \propto \sqrt{T}\\\\ \frac{f}{f / 2}=\sqrt{\frac{T}{T-F_w}} \quad\left(F_w=\begin{array}{c} \text { upthrust in water}) \\ \end{array}\right. \\ \therefore \quad 1-\frac{F_w}{T}=\frac{1}{4} \\ \frac{F_w}{T}=\frac{3}{4}\ ---- \quad \text { (1) }

In second case,

\begin{aligned} & \frac{f}{f / 3}=\sqrt{\frac{T}{T-F_1}} \quad\left(F_1=\begin{array}{c} \text { upthrust in liquid}) \\ \end{array}\right. \\ & 1-\frac{F_1}{T}=\frac{1}{9} \\ & \frac{F_1}{T}=\frac{8}{g} \\ & \end{aligned}

\therefore From equations 1 & 2 we get,

\frac{F_1}{F_w}=\frac{8}{9} \times \frac{4}{3}=1.18
