Let  x^2=t

t^2-t-2=0

t^2-2t+t-2=0

t(t-2)+1(t-2)=0

(t+1)(t-2)=0

t=-1,t=2

x^2=-1,x^2=2

Now, no real value of x from x^2=-1 and x^2=2 \Rightarrow x=\sqrt{2},-\sqrt{2}

Sum of real roots = \sqrt{2}+(-\sqrt{2})=0
